South Milwaukee, WI – Dust off those lawn chairs and pack the cooler! The South Milwaukee Heritage Days Parade returns at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, bringing one of the community’s largest annual celebrations back to downtown South Milwaukee. The parade is free and open to the public, making it a perfect family event for all ages.

The parade will feature more than 100 units marching along Milwaukee Avenue, culminating at the Lionsfest grounds at 16th Street and Rawson Avenue. Spectators can once again enjoy a spectacular lineup of marching bands, colorful floats, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, military and veteran organizations, police and fire departments, dance teams, horses, mascots, and plenty of candy and giveaways for the kids.

This year’s parade will feature two very special honorees.

  • The 2026 Grand Marshal is the South Milwaukee Arcade, celebrating 100 years of continuous operation in the City of South Milwaukee. Since opening in 1926, the Arcade has been a cornerstone of the community, creating generations of memories through bowling, entertainment, and local gatherings. The parade committee is proud to recognize this remarkable milestone during this year’s celebration.
  • The parade will also welcome the 1976 South Milwaukee High School Basketball State Champions as special guests. Fifty years after their historic championship season, the team will be honored for one of the greatest achievements in South Milwaukee sports history.

A Tradition Since the 1940s

The Heritage Days Parade has been part of South Milwaukee’s traditions since the 1940s, bringing neighbors, families, businesses, and visitors together each summer. Organizers expect more than 6,000 spectators to line the parade route for this year’s event.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as best viewing locations along the parade route are claimed well before the 11:00 a.m. start. Arriving early will help ensure a stress-free experience and the best seat to enjoy all the excitement.

The South Milwaukee Heritage Days Parade is funded entirely through donations and sponsorships and receives no taxpayer funding. The committee extends its sincere appreciation to the generous sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners whose continued support makes this annual tradition possible.
