“Like a Girl” IPA Brewed Exclusively by Women, Debuts at Third Space Brewing on March 8th, International Women’s Day
Each year, the women of Third Space Brewing collaborate with the Pink Boots Society to support women working in the traditionally male-dominated brewing industry.
Milwaukee, Wisc. – March 2, 2023 – Just 3 weeks ago, the women of Third Space and the Pink Boots Society worked together to begin brewing the appropriately titled “Like a Girl” IPA. They collaborated on every aspect of the brewing and creative process for this beer, which has now been packaged and will be officially released to the public on Wednesday, March 8th- International Women’s Day.
The release party will take place from 5-9pm on Wednesday March 8th, and every element is intended to highlight women professionals. At 6 pm we’ll hear a few words about women in the brewing industry from Third Space’s very own women brewers, Samantha Danen and Amy Rohrschneider, followed by a live performance from woman-music artist TAE. Food from woman-owned food vendors, Tots on the Street and BB Cakes, will be served throughout the event.
Third Space Brewing will donate a portion of the proceeds from the Like a Girl IPA’s sales to the Wisconsin Chapter of the Pink Boots Society. The group provides scholarships, educational opportunities, and other services to the amazing women who call Wisconsin’s beer industry home.
The goal of the project is to highlight the roles strong women fill in every aspect of the beer business and to raise funds to help more women pursue a career in this traditionally male-dominated industry.
2023’s Like A Girl beer recipe will use the same malt bill from previous iterations of the beer along with the 2023 Yakima Chief 6th Annual Pink Boots Hop Blend which includes the hops Loral, Ekuanot, and experimental hop HBC 586. The beer showcases an aroma profile of citrus, herbal, stone fruit, tropical, and woody. This profile is balanced with the sweet malt presence and silky mouthfeel the grain bill provides.
A Word from the Women-Brewers of Third Space
“This event is so special to me because I get to combine my passion for brewing and advocating for women.” says Third Space brewer Samantha Danen. “Each year we brew this beer, I feel we shine a light on the need for women in this traditionally male-dominated industry. There is a place for them here, they do belong, and we’re here to show everyone what it means to do it ‘Like A Girl.’”
