Johnson Discusses Kenosha Riots on CNN
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) joined CNN’s “State of the Union with Jake Tapper” Sunday to discuss the riots in Kenosha.

“I’ve been urging calm across the board particularly in light of what happened here in Kenosha, but as I said in the opening statement when we had Acting Secretary Wolf before my committee, when you encourage the disdain for the police, you encourage criminals. When you do little or nothing to stop rioting, you encourage anarchy. So when you are encouraging criminals and anarchy people’s lives are lost. You have more and more destruction, more and more violence. So what we need to do is get control of the situation.”
“I was in Kenosha yesterday. The downtown is boarded up. Those businesses are shuttered. They can’t operate. Other citizens now can’t earn a living because the businesses are shut down.”
“I don’t want to see anybody lose their life. I don’t want to see the violence continue. I don’t want to see businesses burn down. I don’t want to see economic destruction. I condemn it all.”

Sen. Johnson, Your babbling and incoherent comments on CNN yesterday showed just out of touch you are with the voters and the quality of life here in Wisconsin. You tried over and over again to ignore the host’s questions and stray off topic into Trump-speak whether it applied or not. I was embarrassed for Wisconsinites.
On top of that, if you think that common-sense individuals should blindly follow law enforcement actions regardless of blatant racism and police misconduct, you do not have a clue about democracy. As long as our police and our current president thrive on inciting violence with their behavior and lack of respect for citizens, people will not respect the police. What encourages violence are people that thrive on agitating people who are protesting on behalf of First Amendment rights and pitting individuals against one another for the sake of political party.
