Members of the City of Milwaukee Youth Council and the West Allis Youth Commission will be joined by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, West Allis Mayor Dan Devine, Rick Frenette, chief executive officer of Wisconsin State Fair Park and others during a news conference Monday to promote a safe community and safe events for all to enjoy. The news conference will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the U.S. Cellular Main Gate at State Fair Park (located on the north end of the Fair Park).
Zach Komes, president of the City of Milwaukee Youth Council, said it is important for young people to hear peers advocating for a peaceful community. Milwaukee and the surrounding communities host hundreds of festivals and fairs throughout the summer months; with the upcoming Wisconsin State Fair being one of the largest, it is important to encourage youth to enjoy all of these events in a positive manner.
