Wellpoint Care Network to Host 2nd Annual ‘Diapers for Dads’ Distribution Event
MILWAUKEE — Wellpoint Care Network, a community-facing human services organization based in Milwaukee, has partnered with the Milwaukee Diaper Mission to host the 2nd annual ‘Diapers for Dads’ distribution event.
It will take place on Friday, December 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Wellpoint Care Network (8901 W. Capitol Dr). Last year, nearly 19,000 diapers were collected and distributed to dads throughout the Milwaukee community.“Our goal is to help these fathers not only with diapers, but also with additional resources and support,” said Andrew Bonner, Community Engagement Coordinator at Wellpoint Care Network. “We will have agencies on-site to help fathers find jobs, help with child support questions, advice on legal situations and much more. It’s about more than just diapers, we want to help them reach the Five Pillars of Stability — employment, education, housing, health and caring connections.”
At Wellpoint Care Network, we want to show dads that we care about them, we value their presence and we appreciate everything that they do for their children.
“I’m a father myself, I know how expensive diapers are.” added Bonner. “I know the struggle of choosing between diapers and food. You shouldn’t have to choose — just come in and see us. The help is here.”
The event is free to the public. All fathers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
