Law firm’s commitment allows Urban Alternative station to offer subsidized underwriting rates to Black-owned small businesses
MILWAUKEE (April 11, 2023) – Wisconsin-based law firm von Briesen & Roper, s.c. has committed $20,000 to support HYFIN’s Black-Owned Small Business Initiative, the station announced Tuesday.
“von Briesen is dedicated to supporting programs that make big impacts on local nonprofits and organizations in our communities,” said Susan Lovern, President and CEO of von Briesen & Roper, s.c. “We do that through sponsorships and we do that through pro bono efforts. We felt that this opportunity was a perfect blending of two of our core missions and are excited to hear from new underwriters on HYFIN.”
“This sponsorable initiative is designed to help support small businesses and entrepreneurs in the Black community,” said Kris deFelice, Radio Milwaukee’s director of underwriting & partnership. “We are thrilled to have a partner like von Briesen to help underwrite the cost of this program offering for the community.”
In order to fully fund this initiative, Radio Milwaukee is seeking additional corporate or philanthropic monetary support. Interested entities should contact deFelice at kris@radiomilwaukee.org.
Small businesses interested in reaching an engaged public media audience at reduced rates should contact underwriting@radiomilwaukee.org for program requirements and package details.
