Statement from Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair on Memorial Day
"This Memorial Day, we honor those we have lost, stand up for those who serve, and re-commit ourselves to always doing right by those who made it home."
MADISON – In recognition of Memorial Day, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Martha Laning released the following statement:
“Today, we recognize the men and women in uniform who gave what President Lincoln famously called “the last full measure of devotion” in service of the freedoms we all enjoy. As Americans, we owe an incredible debt to the soldiers who laid down their lives to protect our country, our values, and our sacred liberty.
“As we honor their sacrifices, we must also recommit ourselves to supporting those men and women who serve in our armed forces, and those who made it home. We need to continue building a country that ensures veterans always have the support they need, whether it be quality health care, career training or job opportunities that allow them to build a life for themselves and their families.
“This Memorial Day, we honor those we have lost, stand up for those who serve, and re-commit ourselves to always doing right by those who made it home.”
