Skyline Music series starts today
New amphitheater debuts this evening as FREE summer concert series kicks off
Weather permitting, Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites neighbors to join in the fun during this evening’s initial 2013 Skyline Music concert at Kadish Park, just south of E. North Ave. between the Kilbourn Park Reservoir and Commerce St. The group De La Buena will provide the live music beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Hosted by the COA Youth & Family Centers, the free Tuesday evening concert series also includes food vendors and free art activities offered by the Riverwest Artists Association. The series runs through August 20.
This evening’s opener will also mark the grand opening of COA’s new Selig-Joseph-Folz Amphitheater, which has received a Mayor’s Design Award as a design project that contributes positively to the urban landscape of Milwaukee. The Amphitheater will bring high quality performing arts programming to Riverwest and surrounding neighborhoods
Each concert of the Skyline Music series starts at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m. The lineup for 2013:
• July 9 – De La Buena
• July 16 – Urban Empress & The Urbanites
• July 23 – Five Card Studs
• July 30 – Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound
• August 6 – RAS Movement
• August 13 – Leroy Airmaster with Jim Liban
• August 20 – Extra Crispy Brass Band
