TID Amendments to Support Infrastructure Projects in District 7
Yesterday (Tuesday, July 14), the Common Council adopted a pair of amendments to city Tax Incremental Districts (TIDs) that will support a variety of infrastructure projects in the 7th Aldermanic District. The amendment to TID no. 74, sponsored by Alderman DiAndre Jackson, will provide up to $3,690,000 in funding for public infrastructure improvements and $150,000 for housing programs. Among the notable projects included in the TID amendment are site work at Century City, N. 35th St. safety improvements and repaving, and street repaving on W. Bernhard Pl.
Additionally, the Council adopted an amendment to TID 72, sponsored by Ald. Andrea M. Pratt and co-sponsored by Ald. Jackson. This TID amendment will provide 7th District residents with upgraded street-lighting circuitry and traffic-calming measures along N. Hopkins St.
“Improving aging and deteriorating city infrastructure remains a top priority for many within the 7th District. The TID amendments adopted by the Council yesterday will open new funding for a variety of traffic calming measures, road reconstruction projects, and street lighting upgrades, among other projects,” said Ald. Jackson. “I want to thank my colleague Alderwoman Pratt for partnering with me on these files. Residents in both of our districts will directly benefit and feel the positive impacts that these investments will provide.”
