Tony Award-Winning Broadway Star Joshua Henry to Make Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Debut
MILWAUKEE, WI, 7/14/2026 — Fresh off his 2026 Tony Award-winning performance in Ragtime, Broadway powerhouse Joshua Henry will make his debut with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for a special one-night-only performance on Friday, April 30, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bradley Symphony Center. One of Broadway’s most commanding voices, Henry brings his extraordinary vocal artistry, emotional depth, and magnetic stage presence to Milwaukee for an unforgettable evening celebrating Broadway, soul, jazz, and American song.
The four-time Tony Award nominee earned the 2026 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his acclaimed portrayal of Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Lincoln Center Theater’s Broadway revival of Ragtime. The performance also earned him the Drama League Distinguished Performance Award, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical, Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Broadway Musical, and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite Leading Actor in a Musical.
Audiences can expect an evening featuring songs associated with Henry’s celebrated career and signature interpretations, with selections expected to include “Feeling Good,” “What’s Going On,” “A Change Is Gonna Come,” “If I Loved You,” and “Wait for It.”
In addition to his acclaimed stage career, Henry released Joshua Henry: Live at Lincoln Center in 2026, an acoustic live album showcasing his celebrated voice through fresh interpretations of Broadway favorites. His screen credits include ABC’s Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration, tick, tick… BOOM!, Apple TV+’s See, and American Renegades.
Henry’s Broadway career includes starring roles in the Grammy Award-winning revival of Into the Woods, Waitress, Carousel, Violet, The Scottsboro Boys, Hamilton, Shuffle Along, In the Heights, American Idiot, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess, and Bring It On: The Musical.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is Wisconsin’s largest cultural institution and one of the nation’s leading orchestras.
