MILWAUKEE (August 24, 2020) — Penfield Montessori Academy is excited to welcome Sangita Nayak as the Principal. Sangita is an experienced organizer, communicator, teacher and school administrator.

“I look forward to illuminating pathways to success and creating a bright future for the children of Penfield Montessori so that they may create a better world,” said Sangita. “Although this year may not be a predictable one, I am excited to join this team and serve our students and families.”

Prior to joining the leadership team at Penfield Montessori, Sangita served as the Assistant Principal for James Whitcomb Riley where she focused on initiating a dual language Montessori school, increasing enrollment, and managing climate and academics for more than 400 students. Prior to joining James Whitcomb Riley, she taught at Fernwood Montessori and Craig Montessori.

Grounded in social justice, Sangita has lead and organized for the 9to5 National Association of Working Women, Hmong American Women’s Association, The Praxis Project, and consulted for groups such as The Sikh Coalition, Freedom, Inc., and The Virginia Center for Inclusion.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sangita to Penfield Montessori Academy,” said Christine Holmes, President/CEO of Penfield Children’s Center and Board Chair at Penfield Montessori Academy. “Her
