Rick Schlesinger, Marti Wronski and Cecelia Gore Named to Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2025 Power Players

Milwaukee Brewers Front Office Executives Recognized for Leadership Efforts

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers are pleased to share that President – Business Operations Rick Schlesinger, Chief Operating Officer Marti Wronski and Executive Director – Brewers Community Foundation Cecelia Gore have been named to the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 2025 Power Players list.

The Power Players list – an annual recognition of the individuals in Southeast Wisconsin known for their ability to define conversations, connect people, and make community impact – highlights those who are shaping a bright future for Southeast Wisconsin. The list is compiled by Milwaukee Business Journal reporters, editors and readers’ suggestions.

Schlesinger enters his 23rd season with the Brewers, Wronski her 22nd and Gore her 16th season. These executive leaders are well-respected not only in their organization but much further beyond, as individuals who know how to get a deal done.

Schlesinger, at the helm of the Club, works closely with Wronski to manage all of aspects of business operations for the Milwaukee Brewers. Schlesinger’s decades of leadership have seen the Club grow exponentially both on the business and baseball sides of the Club with emphasis on increased revenue, processes improvement and talent recruitment in the front office. Wronski is passionate about leadership and corporate culture and its impact on talent growth, retention and performance across all aspects of business, the incorporation of analytics to the business of baseball and the business of sports.

Most recently, Schlesinger and Wronski joined elected officials in leading a successful effort to secure a generational lease extension for the Brewers at American Family Field. The new lease and associated funding to maintain and improve the ballpark ensures that American Family Field will be home to the Brewers through at least 2050.

Wronski has memberships and affiliations with local and national legal, charitable and professional organizations. She served on the board of trustees of St. Norbert College and the board of directors of the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. Wronski is a friend of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin and volunteers with the Wisconsin Humane Society. She speaks frequently across the country on the business of Major League Baseball, women in professional sports, the meaning of leadership, the role of lawyers in business and workplace opportunities and challenges for young lawyers.

The Brewers have been one of Major League Baseball’s best success stories in a number of business metrics, all while operating in baseball’s smallest market. Since 2007, the Brewers rank ninth (33,123) in among 30 team in average attendance. The team also consistently places among the league leaders in local television ratings, including the second-best mark in 2024 (trailing only Philadelphia).

Leading Brewers Community Foundation, the charitable arm of the Brewers, Gore is a revered in the greater Milwaukee nonprofit sector. Harnessing the pride, passion and commitment of fans, players and other supporters, Brewers Community Foundation extends financial support to nonprofits around the state that provide quality programming in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs, with a particular focus on low-income and disadvantaged youth and their families in greater Milwaukee and Wisconsin. During her tenure, the Foundation has raised more than $60 million since its inception in 2010.

Gore commits her energy and passion to multiple organizations, serving as a director and member of the audit committee for Milwaukee-based construction company CG Schmidt and on the board for Town Bank, a Wintrust Company. She also sits on the board of directors for non-profit organizations such as the Sojourner Family Peace Center, the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation and Alverno College, where she attended undergraduate and graduate school. Additionally, Gore is co-chair of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s $700 million Greater Together campaign, which is part of the organization’s vision of building “a Milwaukee for all,” with an emphasis on racial equality and inclusion.
