Brewers Acquire Outfielder Luis Matos From San Francisco

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired outfielder Luis Matos from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for cash. To make room on the 40-man roster, left-handed pitcher Sammy Peralta was designated for assignment. The announcement was made by President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Matt Arnold.

Matos, 24, has spent his entire professional career (2019-26) in the Giants organization after signing as a non-drafted free agent in July 2018 out of Venezuela. He has played in 178 career games in the Major Leagues (2023-25), making starts in center field (73g), right field (52g) and left field (18g).
