Rep. Skowronski Opposes Absentee Voting Decision, Lies in Letter
In a nakedly political letter, Rep. Ken Skowronski shows he’s scared of democracy
GREENDALE, WI — Yesterday, State Rep. Ken Skowronski joined a partisan group of career politicians to restrict Wisconsinites’ right to vote.
Skowronski signed onto an nakedly political letter with multiple falsehoods that aimed to block the bipartisan decision to mail absentee voting applications to 2.7 million Wisconsinites and shift the cost onto the State of Wisconsin.
The letter makes false claims about signatories contacting local election officials later refuted by the officials themselves. Skowronski himself has voted absentee, yet blocks other Wisconsinites from doing the same.
Jacob Malinowski, Democratic candidate for Skowronski’s Assembly Seat, released the following statement:
“It’s sad that I couldn’t trust Rep. Skowronski and had to double-check with the clerks themselves. Once again, he failed to put in the work and lied to our district, scapegoating dedicated public servants in the process. Let’s talk plainly: when career politicians tell you they want fewer people to vote, it’s because they’re scared of the will of the people.”
“In office, I pledge to protect every Wisconsinites’ right to vote — even the ones who don’t vote for me.”
