MILWAUKEE — (July 18, 2019) Milwaukee welcomes more than 11,000 visitors this weekend for Northwestern Mutual’s 139th Annual Meeting, which takes place July 20-23, 2019. The annual event for the company’s financial advisors and their families is expected to have an estimated economic impact of approximately $13.2 million for the local economy with a projected 12,000 hotel room nights.

“Northwestern Mutual is an excellent partner choosing Milwaukee for its Annual Meeting year after year,” said Paul Upchurch, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee. “This is Milwaukee’s largest and one of the city’s most important annual conventions, and we’re excited to see their attendees experiencing all that Milwaukee has to offer.”

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity for Northwestern Mutual financial advisors from approximately 75 offices across the country to reflect on another strong year for the company and celebrate successes. Attendees participate in educational sessions to enhance how they provide financial security to their more than 4.5 million clients. Additionally, attendees will participate in social events such as networking mixers and a run/walk along the lakefront.

The company’s 2018 meeting was the last event in the now demolished Bradley Center, and Northwestern Mutual now has its Annual Meeting in the new Fiserv Forum arena for the first time. Northwestern Mutual conducts events and seminars at the Wisconsin Center, Fiserv Forum, the Deer District, and hotels such as the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, Hyatt Regency, and the Pfister Hotel. The company also hosts events at Henry Maier Festival Grounds, Pier Wisconsin, and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
