Cedarburg, WI, October 28, 2019: The Cedarburg Cultural Center welcomes the return of Nancy Montgomery, as November Artist-in-Residence. Nancy Montgomery graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Stephens College as she pursued a career in Interior Design. She loves plein air painting and paints in the field, later adding finishing touches in her studio. Currently, she experiments with painting interior compositions, drawing upon her illustration and rendering techniques honed as an interior designer. She admits that her first exposure to watercolor in college brought her little success or love for the medium. “My passion for watercolor first bloomed one summer when, quite brazenly, I picked up a $17 dime-store watercolor kit and decided I was going to paint en plein air!” The rest is history, as they say!

Stop in at the CCC to learn more of Nancy’s story and the inspiration behind her art on
November 6, 9, 15, 20: 10 am-5 pm.

Nancy will be teaching a beginning watercolor workshop on Wednesday, November 13: 1-3:30 pm, “Watercolor, Back to Basics” at the CCC. Ideal for beginner or intermediate watercolorists, students will acquire or build upon techniques of this accessible medium. Begin with a step-by-step process, taking art compositions from a line drawing to a value drawing to a wonderful transparent watercolor painting! Demonstrations and applications on basic watercolor painting materials and techniques will be the heart of the workshop. Supplies are included in class fee but feel free to bring your favorite materials. $40 CCC Members / $48 Non-Members.
Montgomery will teach two additional watercolor workshops this Fall, “Beyond Beginner Watercolors” will be held Wednesday, November 20: 1-3:30 pm and “Interiorscape in Watercolor” on Wednesday, December 4: 1-4 pm.
