The Milwaukee County Board will hold its annual public hearing for the Recommended 2015 County Budget at 6:30 p.m. on November 3 at Windhover Hall of the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Dr. The doors to the Art Museum will be open at 6 p.m.

“A budget is all about priorities, and the annual public hearing gives us a chance to hear directly from Milwaukee County residents about their own vision for this community,” said County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic. “We are excited to hold this year’s hearing at the Milwaukee Art Museum at a time when our community is engaged in a conversation about cultural assets and the lakefront.”

Dimitrijevic said the budget hearing is one of most important meetings of the Board because members get the opportunity to listen to public testimony and hear residents’ ideas about Milwaukee County operations and services such as parks and transit.

Tonight’s budget hearing follows several weeks of public meetings on the County Executive’s 2015 budget proposal by the Board’s nine-member Finance, Personnel and Audit Committee. Following public comment, the Committee’s budget proposal will go before the full Board for adoption at its November 10 meeting.

Free public parking is available for attendees in the O’Donnell Park parking lot. Milwaukee County Transit System bus route 10 stops on Prospect Ave., across O’Donnell Park from the Museum.
