Milwaukee Anti War Committee Condemns U.s. Bombings of Venezuela, Launches No War on Venezuela Month of Action
MILWAUKEE, WI – In response to illegal U.S. military attacks and violations of Venezuelan sovereignty, the Milwaukee Anti-war Committee is launching a month of actions opposing U.S. U.S. War on Venezuela, including a press conference, banner drop, teach-in, and a mass rally.
Later that day, MAC and community organizations will carry out a banner drop at 5:00 PM at the Locust Street Bridge, marking the public kickoff of the campaign.
Additional events throughout the month include an AWAN webinar and community gathering on January 11, a phone zap and forum on political repression on January 14, a teach-in on Venezuela on January 17, and a One Year Later March and Rally on January 20 at Zeidler Union Square.
MAC DEMANDS
- Immediately cease all military attacks on Venezuela
- Release President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores immediately
- Withdraw all U.S. military forces from the Caribbean region
- End all sanctions and economic warfare against Venezuela
- Respect Venezuela’s sovereignty and the right of its people to self determination.
