MCTS Gets Music Fans to Summerfest with Ease, Convenience
Getting to and from Summerfest is easy, safe and convenient when you let MCTS do the driving!
MILWAUKEE – Getting to and from Summerfest is easy, safe and convenient when you let MCTS do the driving! Take a local route from Bay View, Bronzeville or the East Side, the Summerfest Shuttle from downtown or a Freeway Flyer from the suburbs; MCTS offers several choices to get to the Big Gig.
DOWNTOWN SHUTTLE SERVICE
The Summerfest Shuttle operates Downtown from 11:30 am to 12:30 am every day during Summerfest and provides service to the North Gate. Bus service runs approximately every 10 minutes. You can catch the Shuttle at numerous stops along Wisconsin Avenue; see the map below or just look for the stops marked with the Summerfest smile logo.
MCTS offers numerous regular routes that travel to the downtown area. From there passengers can connect to a Shuttle. Use the Google Trip Planner at RideMCTS.com to figure out the best way to get from your door to Summerfest.
Shuttle Fare
Round-trip: Adults
- MCTS M•CARD: $2.50
- Cash: $3.00
- MCTS M•CARD 1-, 7- or 31-Day Pass: Free
Round-trip: Children (ages 6 – 11), seniors (65 and over) and persons with disabilities with proper ID. Children under 6 ride free when accompanied by an adult.

- Cash: $1.50
- MCTS M•CARD with a 1-, 7- or 31-Day Pass: Free
Pay full amount of fare when boarding to Summerfest. Exact fare required.
FREEWAY FLYER SERVICE
Freeway Flyers operate from nine Park-Ride lots to the Summerfest Main Gate. Flyers provide service on weekdays, approximately every 30 minutes from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm, and approximately every 15 minutes from 5:00 pm to 12:30 am. On Saturdays and Sundays service is every 15-20 minutes. Times may be impacted by construction and peak traffic periods.
NEW THIS YEAR – MCTS Pre>Fare, a new digital bus ticket that’s good for a round-trip on any MCTS Summerfest Freeway Flyer. Pre>Fare is quicker, easier and cheaper than paying with cash ($5.50 vs $6.50). Visit RideMCTS.com/PreFare for more information and to buy your ticket.
The following is a list of Park-Ride lots where you can catch a Flyer:
- Brown Deer East Brown Deer Rd., west of I-43
- College (both lots) College Ave., at I-94 (both lots)
- Holt Holt Ave., west of I-94
- Loomis Loomis Rd., south of Coldspring Rd.
- Ryan Road Ryan Rd. and I-94
- State Fair Park* I-94, S. 76th and W. Kearney.
- Watertown Plank Road Watertown Plank Rd., west of U.S. Hwy 45.
- Whitnall/Hales Corners I-43, east of S. 108th St.
*State Fair Park Ride Lot will charge a $4 fee during Summerfest.

On both the Shuttle and Freeway Flyer, the U-PASS (summer semester), GO Pass, New Freedom Pass and Commuter Value Pass are accepted as full fare.
OZAUKEE COUNTY EXPRESS
Ozaukee County Express provides Summerfest service from 11:30 am to 12:30 am each day, starting at the Saukville Wal-Mart (Hwy 33/Green Bay Ave.). The bus will depart 13 minutes later from the Target/Home Depot (Hwy 60) in Grafton. Service is approximately every 20 minutes except:
- Weekdays & Saturdays from 5 pm to 9 pm, and Sundays from 1 pm to 6 pm; service increases to approximately every 15 minutes
- Sundays before 1 pm and after 6 pm; service is approximately every half hour
