Keep the Panther’s House Milwaukee’s Arena
“This town is big enough for the both of us.”
The Panther Arena is a community building that is home to much more than University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Basketball. Students at UWM are inviting the Milwaukee community to join them in sending a message to the Milwaukee Bucks, “This town is big enough for the both of us.”
Milwaukee, WI, November 14, 2014
This year, the students of UWM and the city of Milwaukee were given an exciting opportunity when the Panthers secured naming rights for the former US Cellular Arena. It’s only been 6 months, and already it looks like this opportunity may be taken away.
The commitment that UWM has made to the Wisconsin Center District will help support the continuation of many regular community events that use the Panther Arena. As a host to many high school and college graduations, music festivals, various Milwaukee Public School events, and the Circus, the Panther Arena has played an important role serving many of our most important and beloved Milwaukee events.
We will be gathering outside the Panther Arena, 400 W. Kilbourne Ave. Milwaukee, WI, at 6:00pm, prior to the basketball game vs IUPUI on Wednesday, November 19th, and we invite you to join us to cheer our Panthers on to victory, and to show the Bucks that we need to keep the Panthers’ house Milwaukee’s arena.
