Alderman Bob Donovan will help announce a special fund that has been established for three young children who lost both parents in a murder-suicide that happened during the early morning hours on Thursday, December 19 in a home in the 1600 block of S. 21st St. The announcement will be made at 5 p.m. TODAY by Alderman Donovan, Milwaukee Police Capt. Alfonso Morales, Steve Fendt of the Southside Organizing Committee, Block Watch Capt. Sandra Gomez, along with several police officers and community stakeholders standing behind them. It will happen in front of 1648 S. 21st St.
Donations can be made at any Tri-City National Bank location under the Jefferson Orphan Fund.
Alderman Donovan said he believes people from across metro Milwaukee and beyond will respond and donate to help the children. “It is one of the saddest and most tragic situations one can imagine, and happening just days before Christmas,” he said.
“This fund offers an opportunity to do something positive and for the entire city to unite in an effort to do something good for these children,” Alderman Donovan said.
