The City of Milwaukee’s Department of City Development has recently issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the properties at 2601-09 N. MLK Dr. and 2615-43 N. MLK Dr. The property at 2601-09 N. MLK Dr., owned by the City and the former site of Career Youth Development, is a mixed-use building of approximately 15,772 square feet, built in 1900 and situated on a 18,020 square foot parcel. The property at 2615-43 N. MLK Dr. is owned by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee and is currently known as Victory Over Violence Park. The parcel is 60,058 square feet.

Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs, whose 6th District houses the properties, hopes to see them developed in a way that adds value to the community. “There are a wide variety of possible uses for these spaces, and I hope the RFP submissions and eventual selection reflect the rich history of the Harambee neighborhood, and compliment the Bronzeville Cultural and Entertainment District,” she said.

All RFPs must be submitted by noon on Monday, March 23, 2026. Additional information, including the property-listing sheet, proposal summary, assessment history, submission information and more, can be found by visiting city.milwaukee.gov/CRE.
