MILWAUKEE (Aug. 13, 2020) – Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) today announced a diverse community impact program that will invest an additional $100,000 to support the City of Milwaukee and its residents through a series of activities and events with Milwaukee nonprofits in advance of the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

“In less than a week, all eyes will be on Milwaukee as we host the Democratic National Convention,” said Mayor Tom Barrett. “I am appreciative of Charter for partnering with local nonprofit organizations to provide services and virtual programming that will help improve the lives of many residents in our city.”

Charter’s $100,000 community impact support is part of a broader $1.4 million investment in conjunction with the 2020 Democratic National Convention (DNC). Charter will serve as a premier connectivity provider for the Convention and has built and upgraded the broadband infrastructure in downtown Milwaukee to serve the Wisconsin Convention Center, Panther Arena and Miller High Life Theater, much of which will remain in place post-Convention. Charter committed to a similar investment for the 2020 Republican National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

Charter’s community impact events celebrate Milwaukee and its role as the host city for the 2020 DNC. Community organizations to be highlighted include: Sojourner Family Peace Center, YWCA of Southeast Wisconsin, Benedict Center, Milwaukee Urban League, Milwaukee Public Schools, Revitalize Milwaukee and other area nonprofits.

The community impact events series will include diverse activities and charitable contributions totaling more than $100,000, including the distribution of 500 Spectrum Safe & Healthy Home Kits. These kits feature easy-to-install and -use products to help make homes safer and healthier, such as a smoke alarm, first-aid kit, carbon monoxide tester, weather stripping, cleaning supplies and more, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Events, whether virtual or in person, are being orchestrated with participating organizations to provide community service and support while adhering to CDC guidelines for safe public engagement during this pandemic.

“Milwaukee is a special city that many of our employees call home,” said Gary Underwood, Charter’s Vice President of State Government Affairs. “We felt the best way to give back was to build on our longstanding community presence through a special program that honors the DNC host city providing resources and support to several nonprofit organizations to help further their good work.”

Charter, which provides broadband, video, mobile and voice services under the Spectrum brand, is committed to improving communities and impacting lives where its customers and employees live and work. Highlights from Charter’s weeklong community impact program include:
