Celebrate this Holiday Season at the Pabst Mansion

This year’s Holiday Season brings back popular Christmas at the Pabst Mansion and Twilight Tours as well as new Paper Ornament and Cookie Decorating Workshops

Milwaukee, WI – November 5, 2019 – Celebrate the holidays with the historic Pabst Mansion. Recently featured in the New York Times travel article “36 Hours in Milwaukee” as one of the top destinations to visit while in Milwaukee, this is especially true during this festive time of year! The magnificent home of Captain Frederick Pabst offers some of Milwaukee’s most gorgeous and colorful holiday events with Christmas at the Pabst Mansion and Twilight Tours. New this year are hands-on holiday craft workshops as well as fun, new gifts in the Pabst Mansion Gift Shop, including unique Pabst merchandise and products from local artisans. For visitors that haven’t been to the Mansion recently, this is a perfect time to make a visit part of this year’s holiday plans.

The nationally-recognized Christmas display, Christmas at the Pabst Mansion, runs November 21, 2019 – January 5, 2020. Visitors will experience the magic of the Pabst Mansion decorated wall-to-wall for the holidays. With décor that is changed yearly, guests can explore the Mansion with fresh wonderment as each fantastical display is revealed room by room. Featuring nearly two dozen festively decorated spaces by 14 different artists spanning three floors, each room presents visitors with a unique experience. Thanks to the display’s title sponsor, BMO Harris Bank, every child 15 and younger is invited to visit the Mansion for free during the holiday season! Tickets: Adults: $14.50; Seniors (62+)/Students/Military: $12.50; Children (under 16): Free; Members: Free. Light-Up Night will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Guests can kick off the holiday season with Light-Up Night to witness the official unveiling of Christmas at the Pabst Mansion! Saunter through each uniquely decorated room while enjoying First Stage Theater Academy students performing songs from ELF – The Musical and other holiday favorites, nibbling on a selection of hors d’oeuvres artfully prepared by Merriment Social/Third Coast Provisions and sipping champagne, a Pabst Brewery & Taproom special release beer and Twisted Path Distillery’s chai eggnog. Tickets: Members: $25; Non-members: $40; Members at $250-plus levels attend free of charge, please call 414-931-0808 to RSVP.​ Tickets can also be purchased at: www.pabstmansion.com/shop/special-events/light-up-night.

A truly magical way to experience the Pabst Mansion during this holiday season is to visit during one of their special Twilight Tours. This year’s Twilight Tours will be held Friday, November 29, Saturday, November 30, Friday, December 6, December 13 and 20, Saturday, December 21 and Monday, December 23 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The evening open house invites guests to visit the Pabst Mansion after dark to behold the enchanting glow of kindled Christmas trees accompanied by light refreshments. Twilight Tours are extra bright this season with select tours featuring local Milwaukee crafters to showcase and sell their specialty products, including: Addicting Pretzels on December 6; Cream City Caramels & Confections and Twisted Path Distillery on December 20, and Jonna Zaczek (pastry chef for Merriment Social/Third Coast Provisions) and ceramicist Faith Ann Givings on December 21. Twilight Tours are sponsored by Zilber Ltd. Tickets: Adults: $17; Children (6 – 15): $10; Children under 6: Free. Tickets can be purchased online (recommended) or at the door. New this year the Pabst Mansion is offering two holiday-themed workshops. A Paper Ornament Workshop is scheduled for Sunday, December 1 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. Guests of this workshop will have the opportunity to make vintage holiday paper ornaments. The class is free with paid admission, space is limited. (Last participants admitted at 3:30 p.m.) This class will be taught by Pabst Mansion Events and Gift Shop Manager Dana Hansen.

On Sunday, December 22 a Cookie Decorating Workshop will be offered at two times. The first class is 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. and the second is 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Pastry chef Jonna Zaczek (Merriment Social/Third Coast Provisions) will be back at the Mansion to lead a workshop on how to ice holiday cookies like a pro. Learn her tricks of the trade during this hands-on class where substantial taste testing is strongly encouraged! The Pabst Mansion will also be participating in Museum Store Sunday on Sunday, December 1. Museum stores across Milwaukee will be participating in Museum Store Sunday, a one-day global event that celebrates museum stores and the institutions they support. Stop by the Mansion to receive $2 off admission with museum store purchases of $15 or more and a complimentary gift with shop purchases of $50 or more!
