Brand New Exhibit to Open at Betty Brinn Children’s Museum in November
MILWAUKEE, WI (October 6, 2025) – Families will soon be able to plan a northwoods adventure right at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum when their brand new Northwoods exhibit opens on November 6. Designed for children ages 3-8, this new exhibit will offer an immersive journey for kids and caregivers to team up and solve interactive puzzles, uncover hidden creatures and navigate secret passages, all while exploring the rivers, lakes, forests and rocky outcrops of Wisconsin’s northwoods landscape.
“The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum is thrilled to enhance our guest experience with this dynamic new exhibit focused on collaborative learning and problem-solving,” says Tina Quealy, CEO at Betty Brinn Children’s Museum. “Northwoods brings the whimsy of Wisconsin’s iconic landscape to life in a way that is playful, hands-on and uniquely designed for families. We are delighted to share this custom-made experience with Milwaukee and inspire lifelong connections to both learning and nature.”The Northwoods exhibit will comprise interactive elements that spark curiosity, build teamwork and support a variety of play types and learning objectives.
- An immersive climbing structure will allow young visitors to engage gross motor skills through physical play.
- A quest narrative featuring a family of foxes will encourage collaboration with caregivers and peers, develop critical thinking skills and educate families on the native plants, animals, habitats and ecosystems of Wisconsin.
- While in the exhibit space, Museum guests will experience the sights and sounds of trees, wildlife and other natural elements, inspiring children and caregivers to use imaginary play skills to be transported into the great outdoors.
The exhibit will officially open to the public on Thursday, November 6 and will be included in general Museum admission. Betty Brinn Children’s Museum members will be invited to enjoy exclusive play time in the Northwoods exhibit on November 11 from 3-6 p.m. Reservations for this members-only event will open on October 20. Families who are not currently Museum members can sign up at bbcmkids.org/membership to participate in the members-only hours on November 11.
