MILWAUKEE – Danceworks DanceLAB will present the latest installment of Get It Out There on January 20, 2018 at the Danceworks Studio Theatre, 1661 N. Water Street, in Milwaukee. Get It Out There is a concert featuring new work created by local performing artists from various disciplines. Immediately following each performance, audience members are invited to stick around to mingle and share feedback with artists.

Danceworks Senior Director of Programs Kim Johnson-Rockafellow has seen the number of artists looking to participate in Get It Out There increase over the years. “This upcoming concert is a testament to the need for performance opportunities in our community. Once again, we will be having two separate performances to showcase all of the accepted choreographers,” said Johnson-Rockafellow. “I’m especially excited for this concert due to the fact that there are more dance genres being shown, including Classical Indian, Irish, Latin, Hip Hop and Modern Dance.”

Choreographer Michaele Chaigneau-Norton, who has also participated in past installments of Get It Out There, commented that Get It Out There “gives you a chance to better understand the myriad of ways that the arts touch people and get a better, more complete picture of how they might interpret what you are showing them.” Chaigneau-Norton’s work will be included in Show A of January’s concert.

Audiences are invited to make a night of it, and dine between performances! Nearby restaurant DiModa Pizza, 1758 N. Water Street, has partnered with Danceworks to offer a 10% discount to patrons of Get It Out There when they show their ticket stub on January 20th. DiModa encourages diners to make a reservation, especially if they will be dining between Show A & B. Reservations can be made via phone at 414-331-0020 or through the OpenTable website or app.
