Romanski Becomes President of Midwestern Association of State Departments of Agriculture

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) Secretary Randy Romanski is now President of the Midwestern Association of State Departments of Agriculture (MASDA). Romanski became the President at a meeting held during the 2025 National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Annual Meeting in Arkansas in September.

“I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve a term as MASDA President,” said Romanski. “I look forward to representing Wisconsin in important policy discussions and collaborating with my colleagues from across the Midwest.”

MASDA is comprised of the Commissioners, Secretaries, and Directors of Agriculture from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. MASDA members meet virtually and in person throughout the year to discuss agricultural policy impacting the region.

During his term, Romanski will host the MADSA Regional Meeting on June 22 – 24, 2026 in Wisconsin. The event will include a business meeting, panel discussions, and industry tours.

In addition to his leadership role as MASDA President, Romanski is also serving as Vice President of Food Export Association of the Midwest USA. The non-profit organization also met during the NASDA Annual Meeting and works throughout the year to facilitate trade between Midwestern food suppliers and importers around the world.

“Wisconsin is committed to growing its agricultural exports, and the state’s farms and agribusinesses have much to offer international buyers,” added Romanski. “DATCP is pleased to partner with Food Export-Midwest to strengthen existing trading relationships and enter new global markets.”

The theme of the NASDA Annual Meeting this year was ‘Securing Our Future Through Agriculture.’ The agenda included policy discussions on topics including animal agriculture, marketing and international trade, and food systems and nutrition.
