Small Business Owner, Progressive Community Organizer, Brady Coulthard Announces Campaign for Wisconsin State Assembly District 14: Endorsed by 14 Local Community Leaders
MILWAUKEE, WI — Brady Coulthard, a small business owner, seventh-generation Wisconsinite, gun violence prevention advocate, and progressive community organizer announced his campaign for District 14 of the Wisconsin State Assembly today. The new District 14 widely represents the City of West Allis and portions of the City of Milwaukee and the City of Wauwatosa.
“The new District 14 provides the greater West Allis community and all of its small businesses a chance at true representation in the State Assembly. With this change comes opportunity,” Coulthard said. “We can make choices about what we want Wisconsin to look like next year, in five years, and even twenty years from now. I have a track record of working with anyone for the sake of serving my community, including helping to move legislation forward in Madison. We need new leadership that will rise to the occasion for working families, our communities, and Wisconsin at large.”
Governor Tony Evers appointed Coulthard to serve on the Wisconsin Higher Educational Aids Board, where he took concrete action to expand access to financial aid for college students and assist families in navigating loan repayment during the pandemic. Since graduating college, following in his family’s footsteps of small business ownership, Coulthard opened a small business that is a member of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Coulthard has stood in solidarity side-by-side with labor unions in various strikes and organizing efforts across Wisconsin, including in Appleton, Oshkosh, Mount Pleasant, and in Milwaukee County.
Coulthard’s campaign has earned the support of 14 local leaders from Milwaukee County and the three municipalities within District 14:
- Milwaukee County Supervisor Shawn Rolland
- Milwaukee County Supervisor Caroline Gómez-Tom
- Milwaukee County Supervisor Peter Burgelis
- Milwaukee County Supervisor Liz Sumner
- Mayor of Wauwatosa Dennis McBride
- West Allis Alderperson Ray Turner
- West Allis Alderperson Vincent Vitale

- Jessica Katzenmeyer, West Allis Plan Commission, former State Senate candidate
- Dawn Martin, Democratic Party of Milwaukee County Treasurer, West Allis Resident
- Chris Walton, former Democratic Party of Milwaukee County Chair

“I am truly humbled by the support our campaign has received from Day One. It indicates that District 14 is ready for experienced and bold leadership that meets the moment we are in,” Coulthard responded to the endorsements. “Local leaders are looking to those they send to Madison to do their jobs well and deliver for their communities. I am here to get to work and help make this community stronger.”
Coulthard continues to create opportunities for service in the community, rising to the occasion to keep our communities safe, healthy, and thriving for all of us.
