North Shore Bank Partners with Local Artist to Promote Kindness this Summer
Larger-than-life “BE KIND” installation to pop up on Water Street beginning in June
Brookfield, Wis. – North Shore Bank today announced its plans to spread kindness this summer with the creation of a new Parklet area featuring a giant, kindness-themed art installation in front of its North End branch at 510 E. Pleasant St. in Milwaukee, WI.
The bank is partnering with well-known Milwaukee artist Fred Kaems, who will paint 7-foot-tall letters spelling the phrase “BE KIND,” as well as the branch windows. Kaems, born and raised in Milwaukee, has a long history of painting the city’s most celebrated murals, including the popular Space Lunch, Beerline Trail, and We Are In This Together.
Upon the installation of the Parklet art in June, North Shore Bank will announce additional community events in the space to bring neighbors, friends, and family together for food, music, activities, and more.
In 2020, North Shore Bank kicked off its Bank on Kindness® initiative and began its online donation program last year, where the public could donate through an online portal to support local efforts of Wisconsin non-profit organizations, with North Shore Bank matching donations. To date, the effort has raised over $42,000 for participating non-profits, with the bank continuing efforts this year.
