MILWAUKEE, WI (June 7, 2021) – Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. (MWF) announces the return of Summerfest Tech on September 8, 2021, as a hybrid event. All programming will be accessible virtually, with the afternoon programming available in-person at the Johnson Controls World Sound Stage at Henry Maier Festival Park.

In its fourth year, Summerfest Tech will continue to support the growing tech initiative in the region and the state, convening technologists, business leaders, and innovators. Programming will range from keynotes and breakouts focused on creating a tech town and diversity, to equity, and inclusion. Programming will appeal to all audiences in the corporate business, startup, investment, and nonprofit tech communities.

“Now in its fourth year, we look forward to continuing the momentum of Summerfest Tech and bringing the tech community together virtually, and in-person, during Summerfest,” said Don Smiley, President and CEO of Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. “Summerfest Tech offers us the opportunity to not only extend the Summerfest brand, but to also shine the spotlight on Milwaukee and its growing reputation as a tech hub.”

New Summerfest Tech and festival sponsor, Generac Power Systems, will be kicking off the day with a Chief Information Officer (CIO) roundtable discussion featuring a variety of CIOs and digital transformation leaders from across the nation, representing a wide range of categories including food and beverage, healthcare, software, and retail. The roundtable will be moderated by Tim Dickson, Generac Power Systems’ Chief Information Officer.

“As a global leader in energy technology solutions, Generac is proud to take the lead as a primary sponsor of this year’s Summerfest Tech event,” said Dickson. “Great things are happening in southeastern Wisconsin on the technology and talent front, and this event will help to further fuel that work by inspiring businesses of all sizes, and empowering tech innovators.”

Summerfest Tech will once again include the popular pitch competition, which will be produced by Young Enterprising Society (YES) and sponsored by Molson Coors. Six winners will have the opportunity to pitch live to a panel of judges during Summerfest Tech, for the chance to win a share of $25,000.
