Event focuses on promoting a successful future at MPS’ North Division High School
Milwaukee Public Schools’ North Division High School will host a meeting Wednesday evening aimed at promoting a successful future for a school that has long been an institution in the community.
Milwaukee Public Schools’ North Division High School will host a meeting Wednesday evening aimed at promoting a successful future for a school that has long been an institution in the community.
The school will be touting its newest programs already in place and those that are expected to be available this fall, including: Construction and welding training; a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program; information technology classes; student newspaper; debate team; honors and Advanced Placement classes; choir; and on-site Milwaukee Area Technical College courses for health and human services careers.
North Division is also looking for help developing partnerships with the community as it continues to work to increase student achievement including: Parent and community involvement; tutoring; mentoring; coaching; and scholarships.
Organizers are inviting parents, alumni and the greater community to join the event, dubbed a ‘Call to Action’ and set for Wednesday, May 21 at 6 p.m. at North Division, 1011 W. Center Street, Milwaukee 53206. Refreshments will be served and child care will be provided.
“We are proud to carry on the tradition of North Division as we strengthen academic and extracurricular offerings at the school,” Principal Stanley McWilliams said. “We invite the community to see what we’re doing and get involved!”
