(MILWAUKEE)Milwaukee Public Schools is kicking off its annual high school enrollment period on September 26 with a fair where all 8th graders and their families can explore schools and programs. The district also warmly welcomes families of younger students ready to start exploring options.

The high school enrollment fair will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, September 26, at Milwaukee High School of the Arts, 2300 W. Highland Ave.

At the fair, families can learn about the programs and activities at MPS’s more than two dozen high schools, meet school staff, and ask questions.

MPS high schools offer college programs like Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and dual enrollment; career programs in the trades, healthcare, IT and more; and competitive athletics. Students can also access art and music programs, bilingual education, special education and extracurriculars for a well-rounded high school experience — as well as free breakfast and lunch.

On September 26, families will be able to complete a high school application during the fair or at mpsmke.com/highschool. The online process takes about 15 minutes. High school options are available for viewing at the link now.

Applying any time from September 26 through November 2 will give families their best opportunity to secure a seat in their first-choice school for their student. November 2 is the date the high school enrollment window closes for Fall 2027.
