CEDARBURG, WI: The Cedarburg Cultural Center is proud to announce it will be hosting West Bend calligrapher Debi Zeinert for the month of August as its Artist in Residence.
Debi Zeinert has been a calligrapher as long as she can remember. After working full time and doing wedding calligraphy at night and on weekends, in the spring of 2001 she quit her job and started her own business, The Blooming Quill. Working happily out of her home studio, she takes care of over 200 brides each year. She is the newsletter co-editor and former president of IAMPETH (International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting), and current president of Cream City Calligraphers.
Debi will be at the Center demonstrating her calligraphic artwork on Saturday, August 1 and Tuesdays, August 4, 11 & 18 from 10 am- 4 pm. There is no charge to stop in, visit with the artist and be inspired by her creative process.
In addition, Zeinert will be teaching a special calligraphy workshop for adults and teens on Saturday, August 29 from 10 am – 12 pm. Get a glimpse into the basics of the beautiful art of calligraphy by trying your hand at this centuries-old art form! All skill levels are welcome. Cost of the workshop is $30 for CCC Members and $38 for Non-Members, with supplies included.
