Milwaukee’s First Ever Maker Faire
It was a slice of DIY heaven, as attendees could get lessons in 3-D printing, blacksmithing, wooden bowl making and robotics.
From tailoring to 3D printing, blacksmithing to robotics, there was a little bit of something for everybody at Milwaukee’s first-ever Maker Faire.
Make Magazine’s event was held at the Wisconsin State Fair Park this past weekend, on September 27th and 28th. With its slogan, “Inspiring Makers, Inspiring Minds,” the event was, well, inspiring. Makers young and old came together, side-by-side, to practice crafts both ancient and futuristic. In addition to a packed Expo Center, the Faire also featured a FIRST Robotics Competition featuring human-sized robots designed and built by high school students, a Power Racing Series exhibition race with electric go-karts, and a massive, 25-ton, life-size version of the classic board game Mousetrap. Our photos capture all the do-it-yourself action.
