MCTS Announces More Service for Fans to Milwaukee Brewers World Championship Parade
MILWAUKEE (Oct. 29, 2026) – The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) congratulates the Milwaukee Brewers on winning the 2026 World Series and encourages fans to ride MCTS to the Brewers World Series parade on Friday, October 30, 2026. To accommodate fans, MCTS plans to provide additional bus service on some routes traveling to and from the parade.
With hundreds of thousands of fans expected to line the streets for a victory parade on Friday, limited downtown parking, and road closures along the parade route, taking the bus can help fans avoid the search for parking and focus on celebrating the new World Series champions.
Several MCTS routes will stop within walking distance of the parade route and Henry Maier Festival Park. The latest route and detour details will be posted at RideMCTS.com/Alerts and in the Umo app as information is confirmed.
Below are the routes with additional service added:
- CONNECT 1
- GreenLine
- Route 12
- Route 18
- Route 57
The Parade of Champions begins at 10 a.m. at N. 4th Street and W. Wisconsin Avenue and ends at Henry Maier Festival Park, where the Championship Rally runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fans should plan ahead and allow extra travel time. Road closures associated with the parade will require temporary detours for some routes serving downtown and the lakefront, with some starting at 6:00 a.m. and ending at approximately 1:00 p.m. MCTS buses will detour around road closures on Wisconsin Avenue between 6th and Cass streets, as well as between 6th and Jackson streets. Additional downtown street closures will affect routes traveling through the area and may cause delays throughout the system.
Regular route and CONNECT 1 fare is $2.75 for riders ages 12 and up. Riders can pay using just about anything in their wallets, from credit cards to cash:
- WisGo Card, including full fare, reduced fare, CVP and U-Pass
- Umo app, including full fare, reduced fare, CVP and U-Pass
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, smartphones and smartwatches
- Cash
Riders without a WisGo card or the Umo app can use contactless payment by tapping an eligible card, smartphone or smartwatch on the fare reader when boarding. All MCTS buses are accessible for people using mobility devices.
Riders who are eligible for Transit Plus can schedule a ride using the Transit Plus Same Day app or by calling 414-946-6318.
