Seen at the Holiday Folk Fair

You may have attended German or Irish Fest at the lakefront this summer. You may have been to any number ethnic celebrations across the state or visited Old World Wisconsin, and maybe you even strolled the streets of Old Milwaukee and the world in the Milwaukee Public Museum.

But have you seen the Ballet Folklorico Huehuecoyotl while munching on a Scottish scone and simultaneously learning about Filipino customs? This was the scene at the 67th annual Holiday Folk Fair that took place last weekend at the Wisconsin Expo Center within State Fair Park.

Attendees got to sample wares from places like Lithuania, Japan, Pakistan and Austria while buying clothing from Donaushwabens, Polynesians, Hmong and the Welsh.

Our ever intrepid photo intern Matthew E. Dwyer took a stroll through the aisles on a Saturday afternoon and captured some lively photos from the event. Use the slideshow function below or click on the link for fuller views.
