Free Tickets to Unique Christmas Concert
Urban Milwaukee members can claim two free tickets for chorus, conductor specializing in Gregorian chant.
Early Music Now will be presenting “Pomerium” on Sunday, December 9th at 3 p.m. The concert, which will be taking place at St. Joseph Chapel, brings to town Notre Dame Professor of Musicology Alexander Blachly and the professional New York vocal ensemble Pomerium, with which he has produced 14 recordings of Renaissance music on the Nonesuch, Deutsche Grammophon/Archiv and other labels. Blachly is an expert on Gregorian chant, and his Pomerium ensemble, which he founded, has been performing for more than 45 years.
The concert will present a selection of Gregorian chant and monophonic devotional songs for the Christmas season. The choir features 15 members who will perform numerous polyphonic works. It’s a unique way to musically celebrate the season.
