2014 Bronzeville Arts & Cultural Festival
Festival kicked off Bronzeville Week, a celebration that is also aimed at redeveloping the neighborhood.
It was another festival packed weekend in Milwaukee. On Saturday, there was Center Street Daze, Villard Avenue Day Festival, State Fair, and a fairly new entry into Milwaukee’s festival scene, the Bronzeville Arts & Cultural Festival.
The street festival was just the start of Bronzeville Week. The week-long celebration, on August 2-9, will host a variety of events that highlight the history and culture of the area. The Arts & Cultural Festival aimed to bring people out to enjoy the neighborhood, but also was created to play a role in the redevelopment of the neighborhood.
As the festival was just getting underway the Milwaukee Flyers Tumbling Team took the opportunity to put on a great show. As house music filled the air they flew higher and higher.
Our photos capture the start of the festival and these amazing tumblers.
