Skylight’s Moving Musical “Les Miserables”
Our photo gallery captures the atmosphere of the Skylight’s production of “Les Miserables.”
It’s a big, long, Tony-winning musical, with soaring songs and an emotional plot based on the Victor Hugo novel. The Skylight Music Theatre’s new version, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel critic Mike Fischer, “combines some of the smartest staging I’ve seen all year with a glorious cast, ensuring you’ll hear the people sing as never before.”
OnMilwaukee critic Dave Begel calls it “a glorious production” and Broadwayworld.com critic Peggy Sue Dunigan calls it a “miraculous” production and Wisconsin Gazette reviewer Anne Siegel called it “a thrilling night of musical theater.”

Rep’s ‘Come From Away’ Is a Triumph
Nov 10th, 2025 by Dominique Paul Noth

It was a solid production with a very good cast. From where I sat in the third row orchestra, I wanted to turn the volume down. I’ve only seen Les Miserables once before at the PAC and did not like it then and it I will never be a favorite. I did not remember the obvious steal from Puccini’s MADAMA BUTTERFLY in the second act when Valjean sings the prayer for Marius’ life.
Thank you for this photo gallery slideshow, which gives me a
great sense of the play!
