Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Marquette University’s School of Nursing will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new primary care clinic on Friday at the COA Goldin Center in the 7th Aldermanic District.

Alderman Willie C. Wade will take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new clinic, 2320 W. Burleigh St., at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013. The clinic will officially open its doors on Tuesday, October 1.

Alderman Wade said the clinic will be a welcome resource for residents of Amani and the surrounding neighborhoods. “I couldn’t be more pleased with the new clinic, and I know the neighborhood’s residents are very happy about having close and reliable options for health care in their communities,” he said. “There is a definite need for better access to primary care options in the area, and I thank Children’s Hospital and Marquette’s School of Nursing for stepping up to help serve the community’s health care needs.”

The nurse-managed clinic at the COA Goldin Center will be staffed by adult and family nurse practitioners from MU’s School of Nursing and will serve children and adolescents, birth to 19 years of age, and their adult caregivers.
