Wrong Way Drunken Driver on Freeway
Tinoco Alvarez faces charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (RES) and citations for DUI – 1st offense.
Milwaukee, WI – (June 24th, 2019) On Monday, June 24, at about 2:00 a.m., a citizen called 911 to report that a wrong way driver had entered the freeway on the I-94 St. Paul Street off ramp and travelled westbound in the eastbound lanes. The wrong way driver continued to travel westbound in the eastbound lanes until reaching STH 175, where the driver turned the vehicle around. Deputies responded to the area and made a traffic stop on the vehicle as it was exiting the I-94 eastbound 35th Street off ramp.
The driver, Cristian Robison Tinoco Alvarez, age 25, of Milwaukee, showed signs of alcohol impairment. Tinoco Alvarez tested a .15 on the PBT.
Tinoco Alvarez faces charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety (RES) and citations for DUI – 1st offense. The RES charge carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
