WMSE’s Art & Music Event Returns to the Historic Pritzlaff Building on February 9
MILWAUKEE – January 9, 2024 – Milwaukee’s own WMSE 91.7FM Frontier Radio is proud to announce the highly anticipated return of its seventh annual Art & Music event. Scheduled for Friday, February 9, 2024, at the historic Pritzlaff Building, this family-friendly and multi-sensory fundraiser presented by von Briesen & Roper, S.C. promises an unforgettable celebration of local artists and musicians.
The artwork is created by local artists who are provided with a 12”x12” birchwood board and no other instruction. “Just like WMSE, the art is free form. There are no rules,” says Music Director Sid McCain. Featured artists include Brett Newski, John Ripenhoff, Stanley Ryan Jones, Dara Larson, Tom Noll, Jeremy Novy, Carole Rode-Curley, and Okja Kwon.
The auction opens online on Monday, January 29, and closes at 10 p.m. during the event at the Pritzlaff Building on February 9.
The evening’s soundtrack will be curated by WMSE DJs Non-Pop! Radio who will play underground hip-hop and a mix of both familiar and deep-cut dance music.
Rounding out the musical entertainment are accomplished cellist Janet Schiff and percussionist Victor DeLorenzo, otherwise known as NINETEEN THIRTEEN. The avant pop duo will perform accompanied by a special art performance from the artist Luna.
“This year’s Art & Music event is poised to be a standout on Milwaukee’s cultural calendar in 2024,” shares Tom Crawford, WMSE Station Manager. “Our city’s vibrant arts and music scenes are the heartbeat of our community, and we’re thrilled to showcase them with this highly anticipated party.”
“Art & Music will be a Who’s Who event with exceptional musicians, artists and community leaders in attendance. Join WMSE 91.7FM in celebrating the vibrant creativity that defines Milwaukee’s arts and music community,” encourages Tom Crawford.
