MILWAUKEE, WI (December 15, 2025) – A fundraising effort from WISN 12 to support the MACC Fund collected $21,064 to take on childhood cancer and related blood disorders. On December 12, 2025, people across Southeastern Wisconsin submitted donations to help children with these significant medical issues.

“It’s awe-inspiring to see how our communities came out to help the kids who need it most,” says Shawn Oswald, president and general manager of WISN 12. “These funds could make a life-changing impact on children and their families.”

Last week, donations were collected both online and in-person at Candy Cane Lane, an annual holiday lights display in West Allis, WI. In addition, WISN 12 was proud to contribute $1,000 to the initiative and North Shore Bank provided matching contributions for individual donations up to the first $5,000 raised. The money will be used to advance the MACC Fund’s mission in funding local research to find a cure for childhood cancer and related blood disorders.

The fundraising campaign with the MACC Fund was the latest collaboration of the ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving’ initiative, which supports local non-profit organizations. In the ongoing campaign, the station features a different non-profit each month to help advance its mission, pursue its goals, and most importantly, improve people’s lives.

“We’re excited to continue our ‘WISN 12 Day of Giving’ efforts in 2026,” states Oswald. “Just one day clearly demonstrates the extraordinary power of giving.”

In 2025, the station raised a total of $1,274,846 for non-profits in Wisconsin. Along with the MACC Fund campaign, WISN 12’s efforts have supported the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) Ride for the Arts, the Wisconsin Humane Society Pet Walk, the Salvation Army Class Act School Supply Drive, the American Heart Association’s Southeastern Wisconsin Heart and Stroke Walk, the Heat and Housing for Heroes Campaign for veterans, ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, and the Food for Families Food Drive with Hunger Task Force.
