Wisconsin Parents Blast Senator Johnson for Standing Against Tax Cut for Wisconsin Families
Green Bay, Wis. — Today, Green Bay parents Dr. Kristin Lyerly and Terry Lee blasted Senator Ron Johnson’s opposition to the Child Tax Credit, a tax cut that will benefit Wisconsin families. Johnson called the tax cut “economic or social engineering,” despite previously securing a change in the 2017 GOP Tax Scam bill that benefitted his own company.
You can watch the full event here and see highlights of what the speakers said below:
Dr. Kristin Lyerly: “Johnson has been one of the most vocal critics of this monumental legislation [Child Tax Credit], calling it ‘economic or social engineering.’ But here’s the rub — Johnson was the deciding vote on the 2017 GOP Tax Scam bill only after he changed it to benefit his company’s bottom line…I know as a parent I won’t be forgetting about this when I go to the ballot box next November.”
Terry Lee: “When it comes to standing up for his own constituents we know we can’t trust Ron Johnson to do that. We deserve better, and it is my hope that parents across this state will remember Sen. Johnson’s betrayal and will vote for someone who supports Wisconsin families.”
