New Trump Tariffs, Same Old Support From MAGA Extremist Congressman Tom Tiffany

MADISON, Wis. — As Trump announces even more new, extreme tariffs on Canada, Wisconsinites shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for MAGA Congressman Tom Tiffany to speak out. Tiffany has been one of Washington’s most enthusiastic supporters of Trump’s costly and destructive tariff regime, voting twice to protect tariffs on Canada earlier this year despite the toll on Wisconsin businesses, farmers, and families.

“Congressman Tom Tiffany has voted to protect steep tariffs seven times, including twice on Canada alone — it’s clear Tiffany is dead-set on raising costs for Wisconsinites and staying in lockstep with Trump’s expensive MAGA agenda,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “Congressman Tiffany has voted with Trump 100% of the time and as governor, he would bring the cost-raising D.C. MAGA agenda straight to Wisconsin.”

MAGA Extremist Congressman Tom Tiffany has voted with Trump 100% of the time — rubber-stamping the MAGA agenda that is driving up inflation and protecting tariff taxes that are raising the costs of everyday goods and hurting Wisconsin farms and businesses. Attacking “one of Wisconsin’s most important trading partners” could be disastrous for Wisconsin dairy farmers and heavy equipment manufacturers who face steep duties on exports to Canada and will be forced to raise prices or cut profits.

• Tiffany voted seven times to protect Trump’s tariffs even as Wisconsin companies and consumers paid approximately $3.5 billion in tariffs between March and December 2025.
• Tom Tiffany strongly supports tariffs and has said “I support them. I mean, tariffs have certainly had an impact.”
• Tiffany even voted to sustain the tariffs after admitting they were causing Wisconsinites pain, saying “there have been some people that have been hurt by the tariffs, there’s no doubt about it.”
• Tiffany supported tariffs even as Wisconsin farms struggled to afford equipment, fertilizer and lost trading partners while farm bankruptcies skyrocketed, increasing 700% in 2025.
