Water Safety Days Coming to Milwaukee County Parks Pools This Summer
Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee County Parks is proud to announce that Water Safety Day events will be held at its outdoor pools throughout the summer. Families will have the opportunity to learn vital water safety skills from Milwaukee County Parks lifeguards.
During this free one-hour event, participants will rotate through a variety of stations and learn essential water safety skills. Activities include learning how to use a ring buoy to assist a swimmer in distress, understanding the importance of wearing a properly fitted life jacket, assessing water conditions at beaches, rivers, ponds, and pools, and taking a guided tour of the facility to become familiar with safety features such as non-swimmer lines, no-diving signs, first-aid stations, and more.
Water Safety Day Schedule
- Monday, July 20th, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.: David F. Schulz Aquatic Center,1301 W Hampton Ave., Milwaukee
- Thursday, July 30th, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Sheridan Park Pool, 4800 S Lake Dr., Cudahy
- Wednesday August 5th, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Pelican Cove, 2201 S 7th St., Milwaukee *also in Spanish*
- Saturday August 8th, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Wilson Pool. 1601 W Howard Ave., Milwaukee
- Thursday, August 13th, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Cool Waters Aquatic Center, 2028 S 124th Street, West Allis
Pre-registration is not required but requested. Participants who RSVP will receive a free pool pass.to be used at a future date. RSVP online through the Water Safety Day Registration form.
“Water safety is extremely important,” said Milwaukee County Parks Executive Director Guy Smith. “We’re excited to offer this free event to educate our community so everyone can be safe and have fun this summer.”
