About 1840 Brewing
1840 was the first year that a commercial brewery started in Milwaukee. We chose 1840 as our name, because we wanted to pay homage to Milwaukee’s rich brewing heritage and call to mind the rustic brewing techniques we employ. At 1840 Brewing Company we blend classic styles with modern flavors to make truly unique beers. Our beers are made using a variety of fermentation and blending techniques. Most of our beers spend their entire life in oak barrels, and all of our beers take between a few months to a few years to make.
