Vliet Street Business Association Announces ‘Eat on Vliet’

Dining Event to Celebrate Local Eateries on West Vliet Street in Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wis. — May 30, 2017 — The West Vliet Street Business Association announced today that they are launching a first-time event for the business district focused on celebrating food.

“Eat on Vliet,” scheduled for Saturday, June 10, will highlight the many dining establishments in the commercial district that runs from 43rd to 60th streets in Milwaukee.

As part of the event, local restaurants will have special offers and events throughout the day and into the evening.

Confirmed participants include the following:

Valentine Coffee 
5918 W Vliet, open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Valentine Coffee will be running “a beer & a shot” special: Buy a bottle or can of any of their coffee/beer collaborations and get a shot of espresso on the house. Also, in conjunction with Cold Spoons Gelato (5924 W Vliet), Valentine will be offering a affogato special: Bring a scoop of gelato in to the Tasting Room and they’ll pull a shot of espresso over it for a dollar off.

Wy’east Pizza
5601 W Vliet, open from 4 to 9 p.m.
Wy’east will show the film “Planting Seeds” about Groundwork’s Young Farmer program at 6 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. and having a raffle for Groundwork and Wy’East merch. 10 percent of proceeds will be donated to Groundwork Milwaukee.

Caradaro Club
5010 W Vliet, open from 4 to 10 p.m.
Music by South Rampart Street Paraders (tentative) will start at 4 p.m. A short narrated session on the full history of pizza will start at 6 p.m. From 4 p.m. to close, customers who mention “Eat on Vliet” will get a free 10” pizza.

O’Brien’s Irish Pub
4928 W Vliet, serving from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Stop in and mention “Eat on Vliet” and receive $2 off a wrap with a choice of side.

Eat Cake!

Eat Cake will be busy delivering wedding treats during Eat on Vliet, but they’ll have cake samplings at Studio Barcelona (5706 W. Vliet).

Kettle Range Meat Co.
Kettle Range will be setting up a grill next to Swoon (5422 W. Vliet) – from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where they will grill delicious grass-fed burgers and gourmet brats.

Maison
5921 W Vliet St, open from 4 to 9 p.m.
Maison will offer 15 percent off all bottles of Rose’ to enjoy on the restaurant’s beautiful patio.

Fred’s Drive-In
4726 W Vliet, open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Mention “Eat on Vliet” and get a 25 percent discount.

Additional locations will be added up to the start of the event.

“We’re thrilled to launch this exciting new event to showcase all the great dining establishments on West Vliet Street,” said Lynita Wolf, events coordinator for the West Vliet Street Business Association. “Come out for dining specials, music, shopping and more.”
