Vliet Street Business Association Announces 2015 Westside Artwalk

Annual Event to Highlight Local Businesses on Milwaukee’s West Side

Milwaukee, Wis. — April 17, 2015 — The Vliet Street Business Association will host its annual Westside Artwalk event this year at several local establishments on Vliet Street and North Avenue
The two-day event, to be held Fri., April 24 from 4 to 9 p.m. and Sat., April 25 from 10 to 4 p.m., will provide opportunities for area residents to support local businesses, greet neighbors and enjoy local artisans, open houses, crafts and activities.

Experience the growing arts community on West Vliet Street (between 54th and 60th) and North Avenue (between 52nd and 54th). During Artwalk, you can visit locally owned galleries specializing in Milwaukee-made artwork and watch artists working in their studios.  You can also shop boutiques offering a variety of options such as clothing, accessories, gift items, and vintage, upcycled or repurposed items for the home. The Artwalk is the perfect time to pick up gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, and weddings. Patrons can enjoy art and dine at restaurants featuring seasonal menus using locally-sourced ingredients.

Confirmed participants this year include Barcelona – Artful Living (5827 W. Vliet), Meritage (5921 W. Vliet), ReSource (5422 W. Vliet), Urban Sense (5402 W. Vliet), Milwaukee Candle and Apothecary (5424 W. Vliet), Nomad Art Gallery (1407 N. 54th Street), Hayat Pharmacy (5928 W. Vliet), Art & Soul Gallery (5706-08 W. Vliet), James Steeno Gallery (5700 W. Vliet), LUCE Lighting and Design (5407 W. Vliet Street), Four Corners of the World (5401 W. Vliet), Milkweed Designs Jewelry (5700 W. Vliet St., inside James Steeno Gallery), Bloom Gallery & Creative Ground  (5205 W. North Ave.), Fathead Jerky (5513 W. North Ave.), Samara Garden & Home (5211 W. North Ave.) and for one time only the Frank Sinatra Nuclear Powered Pop Up Gallery of Art Coolness (1439 N. 49 St.).
