Two Downtown Street Closures – October 4 and 5, 2016

Each street to close for one day for repaving

The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) alerts the traveling public that the following downtown streets will close one day each for repaving:

  • Tuesday, October 4: North 4th Street, West Wisconsin to West Clybourn avenues. The street will close at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday and should open to traffic by the evening commute. The intersections at West Michigan Street and West Clybourn Avenue will remain open during the project.
  • Wednesday, October 5: North Jefferson Street, East St. Paul Avenue to East Erie Street. The street will close at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday and should open to traffic by the evening commute.

Both projects are scheduled as stated above, weather permitting.

Commuters are advised to slow down, watch for detour route, and add extra time navigating this area, or use an alternate route to and from their destinations.
